Term 2
This will be the final term of CAS projects and documentation for most candidates.
Early in the term, the CAS Coordinator will meet with candidates as a group to assure that they have all of the information needed to finalize the program.
To complete the CAS program, evidence is required in the form of documentation on Managebac and the final portfolio, which demonstrate:
- 18 months of consistent engagement.
- Relative balance of Creativity, Activity & Service.
- Address all LO´s in a “meaningful way.”
- At least one major long-term project for a minimum two (2) months, which involves:
- Planning & initiative
- Collaboration
- (Ideally) crosses at least two areas of Creativity, Activity and / or Service.
- Completion of the three (3) required interviews.
- Submission of a final portfolio that covers the CAS experience for the full 18 months.
Status for Term 2
At the half-term, the status flag will be reset. Please update it based on your review as:
- Excellent
- On Track
- Of Concern
Consider evidence that:
- Includes all required information in the project details.
- Demonstrates completion of the initial interview.
- Demonstrates an adequate level of engagement. Three (3) to four (4) hours per week are recommended, but a minimum of two (2).
- Demonstrates consistent pattern of reflection focused on the LO`s identified.
If the requirements were not met, make a note on Managebac that indicates the reason:
- inadequate engagement
- inadequate reflection
- lack of other documentation, etc.
Notify the CAS Coordinator of any candidate who is not meeting the expectations for completion of all requirements prior to the study break.
At the end of the term, the status report appears on the term reports, based on the status flag.
If the requirements were not up to expectation, make a note on Managebac and in Tutor comments that indicates the reason:
- inadequate engagement
- inadequate reflection
- lack of other documentation, etc.
Candidate is required to finalize the Portfolio to include both years of experience, upload it to Managebac AND submit a physical copy to the Advisor by the deadline.
AFTER submission of the portfolio, the exit interview can be conducted.
Interview 3 (Exit Interview)
- This should be done before study break
- Confirm that all requirements have been met for CAS
Following the interview, please make a note on Managebac about the interview and if the candidate has completed everything, tick the box below the timeline that says “…completed the requirements for CAS.
The CAS Coordinator will submit the final report on the term reports, based on the status flag to the IB. Please notify the CAS Coordinator before the reporting date, of any candidate of concern, who may not complete the program on time.
