Resources Needed this term:

Term 1

During the term, your Advisor will monitor your project progression and reflection on Managebac. You should have some form of reflection approximately every two weeks.

  • Use the Maintaining a Project Guidelines to help you with:
    • The quantity and quality of projects.
    • The quality and regularity of reflections.

Note: There is no magical number of projects, frequency or length of reflections, but based on the guidelines provided in the Student Guide, you should:

  • be engaged in projects 3-4 hours per week
  • reflecting regularly, ideally, about every two weeks or so.
    • Reflections should briefly detail:
      • One or more specific experiences in the project.
      • Action taken.
      • What was LEARNED (think LO´s) from the experience and handling it.
      • What (s)he is gaining from the project.

At the end of this term your progress toward completion of the CAS program will be evaluated based on:

  • Having been on track at the end of year 12.
  • Engagement started promptly for the term, at the expected level: 3-4 hours per week on average
  • Reflections and evidence for summer projects are on Managebac.
  • Reflections for this term are
    • Ongoing
    • At regular intervals: approximately once per two weeks per project
    • Address selected LO´s in a meaningful way
    • Include other evidence such as photographs
  • Responsiveness to notes from your CAS Advisor or the CAS Coordinator
  • Completion of the informal Check-in Interview at the beginning of the term

This term, your Advisor will:

  • continue to monitor your engagement, progress and reflection on Managebac.
  • Periodically, especially at mid-term and at the end of term, your Advisor will update your status as either
    • Below Expectations
    • Meeting Expectations
    • Exceeding Expectations

This will be based on evidence that you have:

  • Included all required information in the project details.
  • Completed of the Y13 Check-in Interview.
  • Demonstrated an adequate level of engagement. Three (3) to four (4) hours per week.
  • Demonstrated a consistent pattern of reflection focused on the LO`s identified.

At the end of the term, the status report appears on your term reports, based on your current status.

If the requirements were not up to expectation by the term deadline, there will be a note on Managebac and in your Tutor comments that indicates the reason and and what can be done to address it.
