This term, you are required to complete:

  • Continue to refer to the Procedures section for Starting, Maintaining and Finishing projects.
  • The Y12 EOY Portfolio and upload it to Managebac in the CAS Documents section on the main page of CAS.
  • Use the Y12 EOY Checklist to be sure that you are in good standing for CAS at the end of this year.
  • After ALL documentation is up-to-date on Managebac and the portfolio is uploaded, you need to schedule and complete the Y12 EOY Interview. This is the second of three required interviews.

Early in Term 3 the CAS Coordinator will meet with your year group to explain the portfolio and end of year procedures.

This term, your Advisor will:

  • Continue to monitor your engagement, progress and reflection on Managebac and provide feedback as needed..
  • Periodically, especially at mid-term and at the end of term, your Advisor will update your status as either
    • Below Expectations
    • Meeting Expectations
    • Exceeding Expectations

This will be based on evidence that you have:

  • Included all required information in the project details.
  • Completed of the initial interview.
  • Demonstrated an adequate level of engagement. Three (3) to four (4) hours per week.
  • Demonstrated a consistent pattern of reflection focused on the LO`s identified.

At the end of this term, your progress toward completion of the CAS program will be evaluated based on:

  • Level of engagement
  • Reflections
  • Responsiveness to notes from your CAS Advisor or the CAS Coordinator
  • Completion of the Y12 Portfolio
  • Completion of the End of Year Interview.

This reporting period will determine whether you have met the requirements for CAS in Year 12, sufficient to move on to Year 13.

This status appears on the term reports, based on the status flag.

If you are not meeting the requirements by the term deadline, your Advisor will contact you and your parents.

(S)He will also make a note on Managebac and in Tutor comments that indicates the reason, Ie:

  • inadequate engagement.
  • inadequate reflection.
  • lack of other documentation, etc.

and an Individual Learning Plan will be generated to make sure you and your parents know what needs to be done to address it to keep you on track for the IB Diploma.
