Term 3

Early in Term 3 the CAS Coordinator will meet with all of the year group to explain the portfolio and end of year procedures.

Continue to monitor project reflections and other evidence, advise and provide feedback as needed. Refer to the Procedures section for Starting, Maintaining and Finishing projects.

This term, candidates are required to complete:

  • They Y12 EOY Portfolio and upload it to Managebac in the CAS Documents section on the main page of CAS.
  • The should use the Y12 EOY Checklist to be sure that they are in good standing for CAS at the end of this year.
  • After ALL documentation is up-to-date on Managebac and the portfolio is uploaded, the candidate should schedule and complete the Y12 Interview EOY. This is the second of three required interviews.

Status for Term 3

Status flags should be updated based on your review of Managebac and the portfolio:

  • Is the candidate making satisfactory progress such that (s)he will complete the CAS requirements by the end of Year 13 of the program?
    • Has (s)he demonstrated sufficient engagement for the full 10 months of year 12?
    • Is the portfolio organized by LO´s that have been addressed and submitted to Managebac?
    • Has the candidate completed the End of Year Interview?

Notify the CAS Coordinator of any candidate who is not meeting the expectations for progress.

This should be set early in the term and updated as you see appropriate as either:

  • Excellent
  • On Track
  • Of Concern.

NOTE: At the half-term, ALL status flag will be reset. Please update it based on your review as:

At the end of the term, the status report appears on the term reports, based on the status flag.

If the requirements were not up to expectation by the term deadline, make a note on Managebac and in Tutor comments that indicates the reason, Ie:

  • inadequate engagement.
  • inadequate reflection.
  • lack of other documentation, etc.

and what can be done to address it.
