Extracurricular activities such as sports, arts, music, dance, volunteer work outside the school

Any type of service project that does not address an authentic community need

Any extra-curricular club in which you are currently involved, in or out of school

Coursework required for the IB Diploma

Leadership roles that involve active planning, networking, and participation

Activities of an isolated/non-social or tedious nature such as letter-stuffing, packing boxes, collecting goods or raising money, etc.

Volunteering that directly addresses an identified community need for which you are not paid

Activities that are NOT goal-oriented and are not focused on any CAS Learning Outcomes

Coaching, tutoring, or teaching for which you collaborate and / or plan with colleagues or teacher

One-off activities that are NOT goal-oriented and are not focused on any CAS Learning Outcomes

Taking or giving lessons in painting, composing, drawing, sketching, musical instrument(s), etc.

Paid jobs, positions or internships.

Meetings that you direct and run for clubs that you represent

Family duties or responsibilities

Meetings with partners or CAS Advisor(s) to plan or strategize for an event

Passive activities such as listening to or attending....

Teaching younger students about MUN and training them to participate

Participating in competitions / tournaments. These can be evidence of commitment or may be considered an end product.

Driver training

Anything done before September of Year 12

Using Social media / the internet

Baby Sitting
